Competitive Coaching Requirements
We are always looking for passionate coaches to get involved in our competitive stream to develop our young athletes and help them reach their potential, but there are requirements to becoming a competitive coach that must be completed prior to the season.
Please reference the requirements below according to the age division that you wish to coach.
Please note that many of these requirements are required of assistant coaches as well as head coaches.
A list of upcoming coaching courses is regularly updated on CoachCentre.
Our procedure for reimbursement is as follows;
1. All coaches that require certification in order to coach, and certifications paid for by the club (to be reimbursed following the season they coach) provided they show proof of having completed the course and a receipt from the organization that hosted the course. This holds true for all online prerequisite courses as well such as Making Headway, Respect in Soccer etc.
2. All coaches that wish to continue their coaching education by taking courses over and above those that are mandated for the level that they are coaching must receive approval from Ottawa City Soccer Club prior to taking the course (if they want to be considered for reimbursement). Ottawa City Soccer Club will again reimburse them upon successful completion of the course.
