Fall in Love with the Game!

We aim to ensure this first experience is fun and enjoyable and revolves around child-friendly soccer. We will provide an opportunity for ALL players to use their imaginations, be creative and learn through trial and error. Mistakes are OK. Our coaches will make the soccer experience a challenging, positive and nurturing one for all young players regardless of ability, that leads into our Competitive and Soccer for Life streams.

Sessions: Our Recreational programs runs in seasonal sessions:

  • Spring session: 6 weeks for U3-U16 boys and girls running from the beginning of April until mid-May.
  • Summer session: starting end of May and running through August.
  • Fall session: 5 weeks for U4-U18 boys and girls running from third week of September through October.
  • Winter session: starts in late November and runs until the end of February.

How do I know which age group is right for my child?

  • The birth year of your child dictates what program age group they will play in.
  • In each program name, the number next to the “U” represents the age your child will by the end of the program session you are registering for. For example, all players in our U6 winter sessions will be 6-years old by the end of the winter season.

For our 2023 winter programs & 2024 Summer Seasons, players are aligned by age to programs as follows:

Registration process

Before you register:

  1. Determine the right age division for the player.
  2. Identify the Program you want to participate in based on the details below
  3. Create an account.

To register:

  1. Sign into your account.
  2. Select your Program
  3. Add to basket.
  4. Complete the waivers.
  5. Return to basket and check out.

Grassroots Beginner (Open for all players)

Kick Start (U3-U4)

Introducing the Kick Start Program, exclusively tailored for your young ones U3 & U4! Our seasoned and dynamic coaching team leads each session, offering a unique blend of activities that emphasize skill development in running, jumping, starting, kicking, and stopping. While not soccer-specific, this program cultivates a deepening connection with the sport and empowers young players to grasp essential athletic skills through physical literacy.

First Kicks (U4-U5)

At this stage of play, emphasis is placed on having fun while learning game fundamentals and movement with the ball (i.e. running, changing direction, moving with the ball, passing, kicking). The objective of First Kicks is to introduce foundational skills and basic ball familiarization in a high-energy, enjoyable, and age-appropriate environment. Your child will enjoy learning skills and playing soccer through imaginative games. This program is overseen by our Technical staff and run by volunteer coaches. FUNdamentals (U6-U8)

In this stage of development, players continue to learn and refine sport skills and essential soccer techniques. Ball mastery skills are developed through repetition in games, fun challenges, and engaging activities appropriate to player age and abilities. Grassroots Advanced

Open for all players but designed for those players/families who are looking for a bit more instruction, a longer season and more sessions.

Future Stars (U6-U7)

Emphasis is placed on improving game fundamentals and movement with the ball within game contexts (i.e. ball control, changing direction, passing, kicking). Coaches foster a fun and engaging learning environment where players acquire and strengthen foundational soccer skills with lots of informal play and positive reinforcement. Sessions are led by experienced members of our full-time technical and coaching staff with support from junior staff who are fantastic role models for younger players. Early Development Program (U8)

Our Early Development Program is a fun, technical based program focused on strengthening key fundamental soccer skills and building game awareness. Players are guided and instructed by Technical staff members with extensive experience and expertise training players at this key developmental stage. Sessions are divided into 30-minute “Skills Zone” (drills that build confidence, develop/improve skills, and increase the ability of players to control and manipulate the ball) and 30-minute “Game Zone” sessions of 5 vs 5 players in small-sided soccer games.

Players in this U8 program get the chance to compete with other teams in the Capital region. Since its inception, this program has been hugely successful and the quality of players graduating into the next level our competitive stream is very high. View program, schedule and pricing | Register now

Grassroots Beginner (Open for all players)

Spring into Soccer (U3-U16, boys and girls mixed)

The best way to prepare for a terrific summer soccer season! This fun program runs for 6 weeks (early April until mid May) indoors at the Ben Franklin Dome. Sessions are 75-minutes in duration on Sunday mornings except for u3, u4 and u5-year-olds who only train for 50 minutes. Training together, boys and girls focus on learning the game according to Ontario Soccer’s Grassroots Soccer Program and working on four corners of athlete development: soccer movement, physical coordination, technical development (in activity and skills stations), and tactical development through small-sided games. Fall session (U4-U12, boys and girls mixed)

Keep the summer momentum going and gain an edge for the winter. Our Fall program includes one session weekly for 5 weeks with each training split equally between structured practice and games. View program, schedule and pricing | Register now

Community Programs (free play)

In spring and summer, OCSC gives back to the community by running a 1-day/week soccer program powered by volunteers that assist us in providing participating players with a positive experience and environment. We coordinate on-site, provide a soccer curriculum and frameworks for sessions, and support volunteer coaches in making fun happen.
